Tokenized Fund Distribution: 6 Issuer Checks Before Project Harmonia’s RFP Closes

Project Harmonia’s fund-tokenization RFP closes October 24. Here are six operating questions asset managers should answer before applying.

Tokenized fund distribution is the next operating test

Tokenized fund projects often prove that units can be represented onchain. The harder institutional question is whether a fund can reach investors through familiar distribution channels while preserving the controls, records and servicing that existing fund operations require.

Project Harmonia is a current example. The Solana Foundation says its programme connects Allfunds’ fund distribution network with tokenized funds on Solana. The request for proposals is open to issuers and ecosystem providers; applications close October 24, 2026. The announcement describes one track for funds already live on Solana and another for funds in development. It targets a first cohort across the network in Q4 2026 and Q1 2027. Those are programme plans, not a guarantee of acceptance, distribution or investor demand.

For asset managers considering the opportunity, the useful work is to make the fund’s operating model legible before choosing a chain or token standard.

Six issuer checks to complete

1. Confirm the fund and investor perimeter

Document the fund vehicle, jurisdictions, investor eligibility rules, offering restrictions and the entities responsible for approvals. A token does not change the fund’s legal status or distribution obligations. Have counsel validate how the proposed token and transfer model fit the applicable framework.

2. Name the authoritative ownership record

Map the relationship between the legal unitholder register, transfer-agent records, fund accounting and any onchain balance. Define which record governs when they differ, who can correct an error, and how reconciliations are evidenced. The answer should be explicit for subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, freezes and corporate actions.

3. Specify the dealing and settlement path

For each investor action, identify the order cut-off, valuation point, cash leg, settlement timing, failed-transaction process and reconciliation owner. If token movement is restricted to approved wallets, explain how investor checks, wallet changes and exception handling work in practice.

4. Make eligibility and transfer controls testable

Translate investor and jurisdiction rules into a control matrix: who may hold, subscribe, redeem or receive units; what evidence is checked; and how restrictions are enforced and reviewed. Include lost-key recovery, sanctions screening, permission changes and escalation paths.

5. Separate distribution from liquidity claims

A distribution connection can make a product available through a channel; it does not establish secondary-market liquidity, continuous dealing or assured demand. State what the programme actually supports, what remains subject to approval, and which participant is responsible for investor onboarding and servicing.

6. Show the operating owners and integration boundary

List the fund manager, administrator, transfer agent, custodian, technology provider and distribution partners, with a named owner for each workflow. The Allfunds announcement describes ioBuilders’ Asseto platform as an integration layer and Particula as the evaluator for eligible products. Issuers should still confirm the exact scope, service levels, data exchange, incident handling and fees that apply to their own application.

What to prepare before applying

A concise readiness pack can include a fund and investor-perimeter summary, lifecycle diagram, register-reconciliation policy, transfer-control matrix, cash and settlement model, servicing responsibilities, security and incident plan, and a list of questions for the programme team. Keep regulatory analysis tied to the actual fund structure and jurisdictions; generic token standards do not settle those questions.

Project Harmonia’s published deadline is October 24, 2026. Review the programme announcement and application details directly, and verify current eligibility and terms with the programme before submitting. Allfunds separately described its planned Solana expansion and named its integration and assessment partners in its June announcement.
